We are on time

What one day was written from dreams, today is a project whose mission is to build a more equitable, diverse, inclusive and free society through the performing arts

We are
on
time

THE BEGINNING

"We are on time" project was written by Ramón Marcos for his PhD "Teacher training for the professionalization of dance in contexts of diversity in Spain" at a time tinged with gray by the global pandemic, convinced that another world was possible, finishing his PhD studies in October 2022 with the Outstanding Cum Laude Qualification.

Fate, which is always capricious, led him to live after more than twelve years living in Madrid and later in Paris, to spend a prolonged period in his homeland, Albacete. At a time still filled with doubts and uncertainties, social distancing and a prevailing cultural break, Ramón Marcos decides to present one of those three pilot projects written in his imagination to the leading institution in the field of social inclusion with people with disabilities Asprona. Albacete and, thanks to the support of its former president, Lucio Gómez, managed to be evaluated by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Castilla La Mancha and approved to be carried out. After a year and a half of negotiations, preparation and structuring, the project  see the light in June 2022, with the support of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports and the fundamental figure of medication Mercedes Márquez, as well as the incorporation of El Cultural Albacete thanks to the support of its director, Ricardo Meléndez, allowing its activities to be carried out in the most emblematic cultural center of the city: Teatro Circo de Albacete.

June 2022 was the month in which the two main activities of the project were carried out, the teacher training "Inclusive dance as an educational tool" and the inclusive stage creation process "We are on time" with 17 performers from Asprona, ACCEM and the José Antonio Ruiz Professional Dance Conservatory in a month where inclusion, diversity and dance were open during the creation of the show, supported and photographed by Colectivo Foto Albacete and whose absolute premiere on June 29, 2022 culminated the temporary closure of this first version with a full house of spectators and, most importantly, the desire to start new projects and actions to give continuity to it.
